Welcome To
THE TORTOISE GARDEN

Cornwall's PREMIER sanctuary for the care, welfare, conservation and rescue of Tortoises
Hello tortoise people,
my letter
is a little late this year but as the sanctuary will not be open again to the
public, I took my time over it. I hope all your tortoises have made it through
hibernation safely and have all been out enjoying our warm spell. I am sorry to
all those people who do not know the sanctuary has been closed by the council
and have been turning up. I cannot arrange private visits either so the only people
I am allowed to have visit are those who have a tortoise living here. I
apologise to all of you who would like to see the tortoises but it is out of my
hands and my priority is keeping the tortoises safe. I would like to thank all
of you who responded to my request for suitable people to take some of my
tortoises on a re-homing basis. I had a massive response and I am still making
decisions about who will be re-homed and who will take them on, so don’t
worry if you have not heard from me. I just want the best homes for my
tortoises. Anyone who has a tortoises living here please do not worry. I
won’t be re-homing yours unless I have talked to
you about it first so if you haven’t heard from me, your tortoise will be
staying with me. This is a very sad time for me as I have spent years building
up my beautiful collection only to have some local council official make it
impossible for me to carry on. This will be my last newsletter and after a
couple of months I will be removing my web site from the internet. I would like
to thank you all for your amazing support, all those who visited and enjoyed
the sanctuary and everyone who kept me going through the winter with donations
into the PayPal account. I will be keeping that open for a while so any
donations will be gratefully appreciated.
I will still be on the end of a telephone if anyone
needs advice or assistance, grateful thanks and very good wishes to you all
from Joy.
